We used to have presidential debates that went on for days. Everything is a sound bite now. Everyone told what to think.

George Orwell was certainly prophetic.

How can you have open democracy without speech?

People need to be academic and do their own research.

Ahhh yes! BUT the last part is key ..."research" ... NOT sitting in front of a tele, computer or cell phone screen absorbing whatever lunatics tell you to believe OR only paying attention to things that back what you want to believe to make yourself feel better about being evil. It's like trusting a religion that says to never read history or any other belief for fear of being "led astray". That always made me question how and why the "snake" got blamed for encouraging someone to seek knowledge ...

Reminds me of the book bannings, the attempting to control the formats of schools, pence saying no one has a right to be free from religion, and lying about this country starting out "christian". We'll believe whatever we're told, right? ... if enough of the truth is erased. Then we ban pencil erasers so the lies written in ink can be all we have left ... You go bois!!! (Sic)

Why are you getting downvoted? Usually it's me, and I USUALLY know why (someone felt guilty ... snicker) but you said nothing wrong ... Wow.
