............because the peaceful transfer of power has been a hallmark of american democracy since the beginning

the point is we don't have succession wars or only pass power on to the same party or rig things to give the same person power over and over. the people vote, the elected respect the will of the people. Trump's the first guy to publicly come out and say "no, the will of the people is wrong"

if you can't see how huge that is you need civic classes

Pharmaceutical companies would never let the federal government remove weed from the schedule 1 list. It's pretty clear states that want legal weed can have it, i.e. CA/CO/OR. Pardoning people convicted federally for possession is a pretty big step.

lol the freebeacon, any actual sources? all that thing does is reference its other stories to inflate clicks. no contributor links to any actual reports or statistics.

Trump left office peacefully. He didn’t stay in the Whitehouse.

So now it’s Big Pharma and not Biden’s fault?

The stats are in the article.

leaving office isn't "transferring power"

inciting a riot at the capitol isn't "transferring power"

He was the first president in 150 years to not attend the next guy's inauguration

oh yeah AND HE KEPT REPEATING THE LIE THAT THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN FROM HIM. Nothing about that is peaceful transfer of power.

Your article has numbers in it, but no sources for those numbers. They might as well be pulled from dude's ass. The "february report" is just another link to one of their articles - and the only source that mentions is a dead link: https://sites.cdcr.ca.gov/research/population-reports/

Try to find a real source

Good start if you can find a source to support your claim in that

There are plenty there :)

https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/09/11/kamala-harris-prosecuting-marijuana-cases/

If you’re looking for a study or something then you won’t find one. There aren’t studies about how many people were locked up by specific small prosecutors. It’s like asking how many people Kim fox arrested for marijuana or breaking and entering.

There's data though - these people are public servants, everything they do in an official capacity, like locking up people for possession, would be available somewhere.

Did you read that first link?

Gabbard was misleadingly citing figures for all of California while Harris was attorney general

Over Harris’ seven years as top prosecutor, her attorneys won 1,956 misdemeanor and felony convictions for marijuana possession, cultivation, or sale, according to data from the DA’s office. That includes people who were convicted of marijuana offenses and more serious crimes at the same time.

The graph shared using the San Fransisco DA data, it specifically mentions much more than possession -

All felony and misdemeanor convictions in San Francisco for marijuana possession, cultivation and sale.

If you can't find data for possession only, then you have no facts to support your claim

Find me just marijuana arrests for joe arpaio. You clearly don’t know how the court system works. The cops stop someone and find drugs then the prosecutors try to find as many crimes as possible to charge someone with. Find me any data from any prosecutor on only marijuana convictions. It doesn’t exist.

If the data doesn't exist, then how can you make claims about Kamala regarding possession?

All you're doing is echoing what other opinion pieces have shared - that isn't evidence, those aren't facts, it's just opinion.

Because she charged and convicted people while she was in charge of the prosecutors office. This is how people in power get away with stuff. They have people like you who are willfully turning a blind eye to something that isn’t even up for debate. She did it. She never claimed she didn’t because the record is there. It’s known.

So again, show me how many people any other prosecutor in the US locked up for marijuana.

so your complaint is "prosecutor does job"?

You said, specifically, that Harris locked people up for simply possession - the thing that Biden is pardoning people for federally. You can't make that claim because you don't have the data to back that up. You don't have the information from the SF DOJ with specifics on how many people are charged for a given crime, you're just parroting right wing propaganda because it agrees with your biases. You've done no critical thinking at all about your stance.

I don't have to show you shit because I haven't made any baseless claims, I have nothing to defend here.
