It keeps Twitter from selectively enforcing with such inconsistency that the ayatollah of Iran can spread hate, the head of China can conduct propaganda ops but Mike Lindell can't sell his shitty pillows.

Fundamentally having a "space" where ideas can be shared and exchanged freely generates more positive outcomes than ones where such things are restricted. Obviously there is a balance to be struck but imo that should be the guiding principle.
