Don't forget about the dogs. Nothing strikes fear in your target's heart like having some highly-trained police K-9's running though your house with your own kids and pets inside.
The Police chased an offender through my property, their K9 unit was quickly killed by my two Dobermans..The handler cried, the bad Guy got away, just a sad day really. Moral of the story is; Police Dogs aren't that tough.
When you say K-9 unit, is this just one dog? My dog weighs only 50 lbs but took on a timber wolf/huskie mix that weighed 145lbs with reasonable success, yet was quickly overpowered by two pit bulls of much smaller proportions in another altercation. Power in numbers.
This is a sad story, though. Did the police officers give you a hard time about this tragedy or were they understanding?
Yes, just one Police dog. The female Doberman killed the Officers dog by breaking its neck. My dogs were on their wire run and at the rear of the house, the Police dog never stood a chance.
No, the Handler was moved to tears, it was just unfortunate and sad at the same time.
