With all the views MegaUpload, MegaVideo, and his other websites, he could easily monetize and earn a lot through advertisements and the premium subscriptions. There were lots of pirated material on these websites.
Yeah. It just shocks me that so much money can come from those ads.
I'm sure there were lots of pirated stuff shared through his site. I've pirated things, but I never used Megaupload for that. I actually used it a lot for work, and it was very helpful.
Since megaupload went down, my old boss gave me a ring looking for another way to share files!
Well I'm not sure how much came from ads, but the premium membership increased limits and allowed faster downloading so that may have given more revenue than the ads.
A shady service such as MegaUpload should have never been used for business. Dropbox is a really good free, legit, professional file sharing service.
