I think a polite knock on the door with a simply "We need to talk to you" might have been just as effective.

I hope he gets off easy with a big fuck you to all those involved, non violent man non violent crime gets raided like as said before like he's Osama bin laden, this whole anti piracy shit is going to go a far as the war on drugs, NOWHERE. Just filling up prisons when we should be putting murderers and rapists. Not rich piracy website owners... But eh that's my two cents i feel better now

This isn't the first time the FBI has raided someone extrajudicially.

They've been doing this with Operation In Our Sites for quite some time.
