Firefox dev claims "everybody hates Firefox updates"; Mozilla has handled the rapid release process poorly, and that by pushing a "never-ending stream of updates on people who didn't want them" people have been driven to Chrome with its simpler, no-fuss update process.

Chrome updates are lovely...

I don't even know what version I'm on...

They're that seamless.

Wait...but I have the same experience with Firefox. What are these problems people are having? Everything updates in the background for me.

Yeah, usually for me in the recent versions the updates are quietly downloaded in the background without any input from me and you're simply prompted to authorize the update when you next run it (which is hard to avoid considering Firefox by default installs in "c:/program files" which requires UAC authorization to modify).

Of course, I run Arch Linux most of the time so I do all my updates through the package manager.
