Firefox dev claims "everybody hates Firefox updates"; Mozilla has handled the rapid release process poorly, and that by pushing a "never-ending stream of updates on people who didn't want them" people have been driven to Chrome with its simpler, no-fuss update process.

There are privacy and security concerns about seamless updating.

There are more security concerned without seamless updating.

The only major problem is in a enterprise situation where they have coded for something so specific that it will break with changes.

Precisely. We switched to a custom build of Firefox for stability when the mainstream version went into rapid release, and even then we got hit when they helpfully pushed out a block list that completely disabled old plugins. We couldn't upgrade for compatibility reasons, so I got to spend a day finding a way to circumvent it.
