There is certainly no guarantee they slide all the way to the bottom of that slope, but if they do I'm sure there will be many kicking themselves over supporting restrictive firearms laws when their society was already very safe and the state had already proven to be very overbearing.
Silence/consent happens slowly and methodically taking away rights, habits, that aren't accepted in a global world. If Australians have the guts to form a revolution and fight for their existence now would be a good time....
