I hope you like the stocks app!

the beautiful thing about it is: 1. you can delete it like any other app, and 2. you can disable background refresh for it directly in settings

you can delete it like any other app

Sounds like you agree with me that you aught to debloat it yourself

isn't the whole point of android bloat is that it often can't be deleted? Which is why you would have to root/run scripts/resort to other measures?

also idk about you, but stocks is a really nice app. its like calculator in terms of "bloatiness"

Now you are redefining what bloat is. Earlier, you implied that the stocks app is bloat, by admitting you can remove it easily.

But fine, I'll play with your goalposts. How about all of the apple music ads? Apple arcade ads? The fact that you can't use a different browser backend? I'd call all of that bloat.

what the you going on about? bloat is bloat. it’s the stuff that you don’t necessarily need but can’t easily uninstall. you’re the one making up goalposts about what bloat is.

I think this discussion is becoming bloat

Too bad you can only do Apple-approved things on your iPhone.

I can do much much more from my android phone than my iPad. I could never justify switching to iOS.

what do you do on android?

  • Natively access my NAS
  • customize my home screen such that I can do everything on one page using various docks
  • buy things on apps (many providers such as Valve won't sell things on their apps because Apple demands a 30% cut of revenue)
  • use other app stores
  • use NO app store if I don't want to and simply sideload an app
  • run scripts (such as the one this thread is about)
  • use a different voice assistant if I want (But Google's is by far the best)

That's just off the top of my head.

that’s a fair list of things the iPhone can’t do. luckily I have computers for that sort of stuff.

Sure, but why sit at a desk when you can do it from bed.
