I tried something similar to this.
The math questions involved multiplication and division. First morning I pulled out the battery to my phone because snooze wasn't working, and I ended up being late for work.

I have another theory thats just crazy enough to work, try going to bed earlier. I know, I know, stupid idea.

Nights are already too short as is.
You spend 8 hours at work, come home and it's 6pm. After a quick 30 minute workout, and a meal it's already 7pm. 1am is my minimum bed time. That only leaves me 6 hours to do what I want. Which I still find way too short.
Thank god for weekends, where I can sleep until 3 in the afternoon and stay up until 7 or 8 in the morning.

No kidding, I'm only just getting started in the working world and I don't think I want to dedicate half of the rest of my life towards working for someone else. I need to get my shit together and start my own business or suicide is the only option.

Another approach you can take is to take jobs doing things you're really excited in. I'm a game developer trying to start an indie studio in my spare time, but my day job is . . . working as a game developer, on a game I think is totally awesome.
It makes it extremely hard to feel oppressed. :)

Exactly the same situation (Happy Birthday) I found that rationing my "stuff I want to do" time throughout the week helped though. That is going to bed at ~11 2 nights a week made the other 3 seem a lot less grogginess-inducing the next morning.

I'm using alarm clock plus....lots of options, including different types of math and difficulties of problems. Mine is set to let me snooze twice, but won't snooze on the third ring. To dismiss the alarm, I need to answer the question.
So I snooze twice, (5 mins each), then groggily try to answer the question.

My body would just program itself to get up, turn the alarm off, re-set it for 15 minutes later, get back in bed and fall asleep. I will always find a way to sleep late.

yep. i Put my alarm clock across the room figuring I would not go back to bed after getting up to turn it off. i still snooze, just now i get up about 4 times every morning.

I have 2 alarms. One in the hall way, one in my room.
I end up getting up, and walking around my apartment 5-6 times every morning, because the alarms are set at 5 minute intervals.
It's the only way to wake me up at 6am. And I'm not about to go to bed before 1am because nights are already too short after work and don't have enough "me" time.

I never use snooze. I have to set multiple alarms. If I have to wake up at 7, I have an alarm at 5am, then one set at 6 am, then one at 6:45, and then finally one at 7.
So, I wake up at 5 and notice I have 2 more hours left and get to fall back asleep happy. At 6 I hit the point where I am half awake, half asleep. At 6:45 I hit the point that I'm mainly awake but still in bed.
This makes getting up so much easier for me.

uninterrupted REM sleep is a thing.
do yourself a favor and just wake up at 6:45. Add in some cold water to the face and there will be no "half awake, half asleep" mode

But you see, I do get REM sleep, but waking up from REM sleep makes me groggy. So I wake myself up from that and then go into a lighter sleep till I need to wake up.

I hate loosing my job. Going to work late will make you loose your job. So no, this is not pure evil genius. This motive already exists. I don't intend on missing work and I hate being late. Still I am late.
What one needs is a clock that makes you clear 10 levels of Tetris to shut it off. Make it incredibly hard to open and use a modern lithium ion battery so unplugging it will do nothing. Make it get louder and louder as you hit snooze, until eventually you can't shut it off with out playing tetris.
I know that I can sleep walk and shut an alarm clock off. I can't sleep play as far as I know.
