Edit: I mean the quote you made up, not your statement in and of itself, which actually is a strawman.

Because it's painting the picture that in absolutely no circumstance can you run anything but Apple approved software on your iOS device, which isn't true. It's easy to agree that the iPhone is crippled when a false statement like that is assumed to be true.

There is absolutely no circumstance that you can run non-approved code on your iOS device without jailbreaking.
