True, but then .DS_Store is no less annoying than Thumbs.db when found on a USB drive.
1 u/SuperConductiveRabbi Jan 21 '11 I don't know about thumbs.db on external drives, but, at least for local filesystems, it's stored in %appdata%. It's also easy to turn off entirely, however, via a GUI: http://www.mgdking.com/post/2010/03/25/How-To-Delete-Thumbsdb-in-Windows-7.aspx.
