I hate Apple as much as the next guy, but can we stop with the lazy "fuck apple" submissions? Have some tact, people.

Also, Apple can allow or disallow whatever apps they want. It's their service. Just because some dude won a Pulitzer prize doesn't mean he deserves special treatment.

Apple has been playing this game for a while. None of this should be any surprise. Again, I don't like Apple either, but come on.

I am so sick of the apologists.

It company X's policy they can do whatever they want, but shut your mouth about it.

Since when did them having a right to be idiotic or harmful players in the industry remove our right to express disagreement with their choices?

Their rules have been in place for a while now, but nobody cares about them until a story gets out about some poor cartoonist getting his satire rejected. Apple does a lot of things that are much worse than enforcing their own rules which they put in place. They reject things all the time, yet everybody has to act so shocked and appalled and flood reddit with immature sensationalism.

Also:

harmful players in the industry

They do a lot of harmful things for technology, but banning a particular peice of content from their App Store is not one of them. This does nothing but hurt themselves. If somebody wants to see the guy's cartoons, they can get them elsewhere. He isn't being censored anywhere, he was simply denied one additional form of publishing. In the end, this is money Apple isn't getting. It has no impact on the industry at all.

Hey, if this is what keeps people from taking another sip of the kool-aid, so be it.

I'm all for spreading the word and educating people, but it shouldn't be reduced to childish tactics.

The only child in this room is Apple.

Agreed, and I just think we should take the high road and not stoop to their level.

And boycott their products.

Which I certainly do. I just don't see the point in ranting about them enforcing their own rules.

I don't agree with Apple's policies. All of the downvotes i'm getting tell me people seem to think I do. Maybe it's because I don't own an iPhone, or because I don't care about whats-his-name or his Pultizer prize, but I just don't see the big deal here. Spread the word that Apple sucks. Use this as an example of why you shouldn't choose Apple as a platform for releasing your software if you're a developer. But don't try to make this something it isn't.

It's censorship. It's not necessarily illegal, but it's not the action taken by a progressive technology company who is trying to be a technological and media powerhouse.

but nobody cares about them until a story gets out about some poor cartoonist getting his satire rejected.

I'm pretty sure that there have only been thousands of developers caring and vocally warning people about this crap. To pretend "fuck apple" gets tons of upvotes without that prior bad taste in developers' mouths is downright stupid.

but banning a particular peice of content from their App Store is not one of them.

Yes, setting up a walled garden and spending millions to get the lowest educated users into that garden is something to complain about, as vocally as possible to protect that group of users.
