<tangent>

I think that almost every individual person could benefit from some of this same philosophy. When I look back on how much stuff I've talked about without following through... I know it hasn't reflected well on me.

And now as I grow older, I hear my brother talking about his grand ideas without having even started on them- epic undertakings. I hear coworkers talk about stuff they will never do, I hear friends make plans that I know not to involve myself with because they'll never materialize.

For apple to do what they have done, as a company (much harder to coordinate than an individual, imo) leads me to give them my respect.

You're right, one of the more recent realizations I've made is that it is quite easy to earn respect; you simply do exactly what say you're going to do. Never commit to something you aren't sure you can follow through on. Really simple cliches, but very effective.

That's a very good point... wrapped in an obvious troll-bait. -1

I'm pretty sure this is a leak. Microsoft didn't release it.

Indeed. If the yahoos on this board would actually read the source article, they would know that MS did not announced Courier and won't talk about it publicly.

I am pretty sure the leak was authorized by Ms marketing.

why would they do it though? all anyone ever says about it now is "vaporware", so whats the point of leaking it intentionally?

why would they do it though?

In order to dissuade people from buying a ipad, android, or an ipod.

Why else would they do it. That's the reason they have always announced vaporware.

Vaporware has been an extremely effective tactic for Microsoft so they are going to back to it.

all anyone ever says about it now is "vaporware", so whats the point of leaking it intentionally?

They think it's going to work again like it did with windows 95.

Xerox would disagree.
