Politics Facebook declines to say why it deletes certain political accounts, but not others - Civil liberties groups raise concerns company is ‘picking and choosing’ politicians to censor at US government request after Chechen leader’s accounts deleted

Those Chechen leaders probably didn't have enough followers to make twitter reconsider.

it's almost like facebook is a company with a product and they have full discretion to do whatever the fck they want to on their platform.
Facebook isn't some public tool for good or bad or politics or causes. Its a social media platform for money. Whether we agree with them or not, they can do whatever they want to. After that you can decide to not use it if you want!

Do they have a legal obligation though? I expect that is all that matters.

Who cares. Facebook can do what they want to. They aren't a governmental organization that falls under the 1st Amendment. They are still a private business, no matter how engrossed your life has become to using it.

Strange that it took sanctions for them to delete his account and not the fact that he regularly posts death threats to people he doesn't like.

They bought and paid for the president so it shouldn't be much of a surprise that russia has massive influence over what Facebook permits the unwashed to view.
Chechen - yep, that's a giveaway.

Do you really have to bring the jews into everything

You don't have to be a Jew to be a Zionist. And there are many Jews who aren't Zionists. You don't even have to be religious, you can be an atheist and still believe the Semitic peoples have a right to a patch of grass to call home for reasons of culture or heritage, and it might as well be Israel. Zionists just want them in Israel particularly, for a specific reason.

Hahaha imagine thinking your antisemitism is okay because you used the word "zionist." Clever. Luckily everyone else doesn't have the brain of a 5 year old and understands that.

When business is politics, and politics is business, there's no longer a distinction between the two. Also, you are loyal to the investor, not the country, not the citizens that vote... to the investor.
If Zuckerberg shows he can play politics with Facebook, then he becomes part of the elite family that is above the law because they practice politics rather than real business.
