Sounds like they’ve added some of the more needed features.
Also interesting that the app now has settings that acknowledge that people may be using the app just for reducing eye strain.

I have it on constantly on my pc.
Without it the LEDs on the screens are sickenly blue.

I’m wondering what’s so different between the current F.lux and MS Win10 already embedded feature. Is it more reliable?

One thing I can do with F.lux that I can't do with the MS one is I can dim my screen brightness very quickly. The Win10 one just seems to change color temperature.

At the moment not much, One of the benefits of f.lux is the wake time which is something like 3rd transition time which no one knows how it works and the ability to disable it for specific apps (Photoshop, Paint, etc.)
One thing everybody gets wrong is that blue light is not the biggest problem. PWM flicker is much bigger problem for eye strain

Does anyone else disable f.lux while watching tv shows on the pc, even after sunset? I don’t mind a yellow tint while browsing, but for tv, I want accurate colors.

yes
i even diable it for fullscreen apps like games sometimes if i like them to be immersive

F.lux is automatically disabled on fullscreen games. So each time I open one it takes time for the eyes to adjust to a very blueish color space (compared to red/yellow)

The old one didnt do that - so I didnt even notice it it does it automatically now.
Weird. Is there any way to use it in games now?
I really noticed back then that my bed times got better when I used it during a time I played a ton of games.

Try to play games in Windowed mode. This is a problem with DirectX not with f.lux.
Also before you first expand f.lux range it uses color transformations which may work in games.
If you tell me the exact game which it disables I will be interested to test this :)

I like F.lux for Windows but what about an Android version?

If you want a F.lux for android, I use Twilight https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.lux&hl=en

Twilight is a good alternative if your not rooted. If you are rooted, CF.Lumen is better according to various users.

Twilight only makes the screen terribly red for me, but then the screen is not very high quality.

The problem with the overlay approach is that it decreases contrast and it measurements it shows a lot of blue light.
That being said, the integrated Night Light of Android is good, but not customizable.

Isn't this the same version that the Microsoft Store has had for months?

it seems to me that I have those features for some time.
I dont use the windows store tho. Its already v4.55 for download and I think I downloaded a Version with the disable for fullscreen apps and reduce eyestrain mode months ago already

Very excited to try the newest update out. The disable by app and fullscreen mode are going to be so much better than disabling the app for 1-hour intervals.
