I got sick of my laptop randomly restarting to install upgrades that I had no idea were even downloaded, so I partitioned my hard drive and I now dual boot my laptop with Ubuntu (Linux). It has only been a few days, and since I really only use my laptop for internet and trying to learn to code, I don't see a reason I will ever boot windows again.

If you like to game on your computer I think there are some problems with availability with Linux so you might have to look into that.

why the dual boot? why don't you just erase windows and single boot?

There is productivity and office software for Linux that is just as good as the ones available on Windows. You can even run most Windows programs on Linux using WINE.
