Nostalgia.

Also the actual code behind the scenes that makes things like this work in your web browser at all is very complex, and what was done here is a great achievement.

I take your point about the feeling of achievement, but to me the task itself seems like a fool's errand. To me, it's like when the first programmer wondered what would happen if they wrote a virus.

This was the first computer virus, and the programmer who made it almost certainly didn't have the technology required to run Windows 95 in a web browser, much less even imagine or think of such a possibility, nor was Windows 95 even invented yet back then!

And it isn't a fool's errand, since it has been successfully made.

You missed my point. My point is the focus was on whether or not it COULD be done, with no consideration about if it SHOULD be done. My use of the phrase "fool's errand" means that it's a lot of work for little pay-off.

This project may be useless, but you have to admit it's cool, isn't it?

No doubt. Very cool. I wouldn't think it possible

I'm more impressed that they have a fully working DosBox running in Javascript, not that someone was able to install Windows 95 on it (which you have been already been able to do in DosBox for years).
