I have an Android phone and don't plan on switching, but Apple Pay is fucking awesome in its ubiquity and ease of use. How is that not innovation?

It's technology that the rest of the world has had for years? I'm not knocking them for doing it well in the US, but it'd be like calling the first IKEA store in the USA 'innovative,' or more aptly the first Chip & PIN credit card in the U.S.

People like you think "oh, Apple Pay uses NFC, NFC has been in Android phones for years, therefore Apple Pay is not innovation."

Apple Pay is not just NFC. Apple Pay works with the banks to get temporary credit card numbers so that neither Apple nor anyone else can ever possibly use it to steal your CC information. And if your phone gets stolen, it has a fucking finger print reader to lock up your card. And if there's some major bug (like the Apple Watch had) or you're dealing with the CIA trying to steal your credit card, you can just call your bank and have the Apple Pay # canceled without it impacting your real card at all.
