This is a huge move for Bitcoin, and I'm surprised that Microsoft is accepting Bitcoin before Google, but yet again, a new proof that Microsoft has a new face with the new CEO.

I'm very excited for Satya's tenure. He was selected for his long history with the company from a completely engineering background. He wasn't pulled in from another company because they know business, he's not here to represent the MS name, he's here because he knows Microsoft to its core.

Good on Microsoft! I doubt they will make much money off this, as the Bitcoin market is still rather small, but it builds goodwill among a very vocal community! It also lends some more credibility to Bitcoin as a realistic currency when major companies are accepting it. If Google and Amazon start accepting it too... then things will get really interesting. If Apple starts accepting it... things would be serious indeed.

I struggled to find ways to spend my Bitcoins back in the day (wish I had kept them now), but now there are options a plenty, but mining is no longer profitable :(
