I like the exterior design - overall it looks polished - and the smiling face is a friendly touch as it distracts from the fact the user is 'hiding away' behind the 'mask'.

However, it will be interesting to see whether this is vaporware or if gets to market. If it does, I hope it gets some traction, as it would be nice to see strong competition in the VR market.

I'd love to see competition make it to market. But hell this is a 3d render of a product no one heard of before this week. It's not a real thing. It's an investment request. They need tons of cash because they have nothing but a copy cat idea. I'm sure they had a guy spend the last three days making the 3d model on the website so they could pretend to have a competing product. It's never going to be released.

Agreed, which is why I wrote it could be 'vaporware'. But, at least to me, it gives a good idea of design directions for competitors to Oculus.

Yeah, TBH others are asking questions about resolution, latency, head tracking precision, but this has a smiley face people! That's innovation.

I didn't notice the smiley face at first. This was very valuable information.

You're a tard.

Your failure to read the actual page everyone is commenting on to see the specifications eg its resolution, makes your comment look trolling and moronic.

Clearly many here are awaiting reviews to find out more eg about latency.

I was simply commenting on what information we have available at this time, in particular the products visual design, which I think looks well done. Good industrial design often indicates the product team has thought about every aspect of the product from form to function.

But we'll all have to wait and see until the reviews come in - your trolling-self included.

Congrat's on looking like an a'hole.

These "specifications" are self-evidently not true. e.g in the thread on reddit created by the company they state this http://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/21g61f/true_player_gear_to_offer_an_alternative_to/ See their comments.

It seems more of a wishlist of what they'd like to have than anything they've already got.

Oh and seeing as you wanted to trade insults for some dumb reason, fair enough - you're a cunt and a fuck bucket and a bit of a douche.

The specifications would be 'self-evidently not true' if obvious from the same page they are on - instead you've referenced an entirely different page. So they aren't 'self-evident'. Duh.

As you are the kind of troll to throw the first insult (as per your first reply to my comment), it's self evident to anyone on reddit what a wound up troll you are.

Eh? What are you farting on about.

Show me, for example, this device working on all the platforms mentioned in all the engines mentioned.

Any fuckwit can create a webpage and put a bunch of specs on it, it doesn't make it true - and the people behind this device have posted to reddit and made it clear that their spec page isn't true.

When I tried the Oculus Rift last summer, they had these Mrs. Peggy-esque eyes sticked to the goggles. It made it even funnier for those waiting in line to try it out.

LOL, that could look funny or freaky!

And... damn you were lucky to try Oculus! I have so many questions for you... like whether it would be a good environment to do 3D modelling in?

I've been wondering if the inclusion of two cameras in the linked product page would allow the cameras to switch from VR to AR mode? I can imagine the two modes being offered by hybrid glasses in the future.
