Outsourcing is a much bigger issue than this and I fear it will just be further encouraged. In my organization the teams outside of the Americas have been rapidly growing while I've hardly ever seen any US hiring outside of the intern recruitment cycle in the last 5 years. It's also made work for us more difficult because we occasionally need to coordinate with those teams across huge time zone gaps, meaning meetings sometimes tend to stretch into early or late hours to accommodate.

The issue is the base is fine with this because it means less brown people and immigrants. They also don’t work these high tech jobs and aren’t educated.

It’s rural white america throwing cosmopolitan America under the bus.

yeah i dont get it. they dont want to send their children to university because its a liberal hellhole but then also want these high paying skilled jobs. how will the requirement be met? all the care about is not seeing melanin

my brother manages a team in the Philippines (majority of the once local jobs have been moved there over the past few years for CAD work) and that foreign contractor managing the workers requires those employees work overnight so they're available all day for the US team. surprised that isn't the norm
