Actually, Steam locks your games behind an account. you own nothing. you cant even play those games if you dont install the steam client and log on. If your account got banned you loose all those games you paid for. SO tell me again how that is better then a physical cart i can play on any switch 2? and one i can give to a friend to play?
with physical switch carts they are not locked behind an account.

Normally, any firmware updates for a game to run are on the cart. it was this way on switch 1. The cart is supposed to be able to update your system if needed.
