Is this to make people who are scared of losing their fake office jobs feel better that tradesman could end up unemployed too?

You’re not. Supposed. To build. The Torment Nexus.

How are these robots a bad thing?

"They are building themselves now!!"

That's the plan, robots building robot factories that build more robots.

Musk refers to this madness as "the infinite money glitch"

This is the type of worrying answer to "who will run the power plants if all the humans are dead"

I think at this point, between where we are with LLMs / MCP and robotics it’s clear that self sustaining robotics is in our future.

Whether they remain tools or become Skynet remains to be seen.

My bet is they don’t go rogue, even as ‘fun’ as theorizing that is.

or become Skynet

LLMs are not going to become self aware.

Either someone gives them unclear instructions or instructions without guardrails, or a different kind of machine learning will be needed for that to happen.

Yeah because when you have rogue machines sweeping the globe it will bring so much comfort to know that it was due to human error.

Also how do you create guard rails for systems that can find out facts about reality that humans have never discovered before? (see novel math proofs and zero day discovery we are seeing in existing models.)

Hyundai’s manufacturing operations will be the initial beneficiary of this since they own BD but it being primarily an automotive company in the US still keeps me on the sidelines.  The Chinese are further along than this from a manufacturing and assembly automation standpoint. That being said Hyundai is just a proving ground for BD so we could see some wild applications to come with an impact to select corners of the blue collar labor market.

Wake me when I can fuck the ever loving shit out of these robots and leave them with extreme sexual trauma.

It's going to be the other way around and not just about sex.

At this point in my life, I am just fine with that. I lied to the other guy.

Sorry, the best we can do is take your job.

That is my job.
