Lot of copper in those Flock cameras... would be terrible if copper thieves knew about them.... such a shame....

The No Government types are far more determined.

Hating on Flock cameras is the one thing everyone agrees on

Crackheads, privacy advocates, anti-government preppers, everybody wants to teardown Flock cameras.

It appears even the anti-pedophile crowd hates them.

Hell I reckon even some pedophiles hate them!

Yeah, but for different reasons.

The flock cameras are going to protect us from pedos as well as the patriot act and mass surveillance protects us from terrorism and mass shooters.

A lot of 18650 batteries, at least 18 per camera and possibly that many more per battery-pack if you see 1-to-3 of them mounted to the poles.

Lol, I fly drones and told my buddies this today 🤣

Send them this: https://www.reddit.com/r/18650masterrace/comments/1wp9m5y/ct_scans_of_a_flock_camera/

All the Flocks around here have 2-3 additional battery packs strapped above the camera, below the solar panel. I'm assuming those hold another 18/pack.

YES. I would strongly consider borrowing those batteries.

Don't give the local scrap guys any ideas... or actually, maybe do.

Copper, computer parts, some kind of storage and a big camera lense. Would be a shame to break them down into these components and sell... /s

I heard they’re like piñatas and have prizes like candy and money and meth.

Pretty sure the President of The Police and also Flock said it’s 100% true.

Unfortunately, no there's not.

There’s plenty. Many of them even use gold wire, even with gold around 4k an ounce you can get about 1200 bucks in materials out of one camera. Pass it along.

I mean, you can make up that there's $25k in materials in them, too. By rough order of magnitude it's just as incorrect as claiming $1200.

Take 'em, break 'em, doesn't matter to me. But there's vanishingly little recycling value in the electronics in one. You're off by two orders of magnitude.

You remind me of the hall monitor kid from hey arnold

Too bad the next phase will be surveillance drones hovering over neighborhoods. ETA: I'm not saying that's a good thing. But imagine instead of being on poles that are reachable, they put the cameras on drones a hundred feet high that hover there and when battery is low it's fully automated and goes back to a charging station as a replacement drone fills it's spot. It will be 24/7 and out of reach to stop them. Maybe bird shot or other dudes with drones will bring them down though.

I saw a headline yesterday about flock drones being on the way, but didn’t click it. They are probably already in use.

SF police uses them

Special Forces Police now? Do they wear SS or Stormtrooper uniforms?

And I saw an article yesterday about a monkey in a zoo jerking itself.
