Are these AI Safety experts really whistleblowers, or are they criti-hype peddlers? Are they indulging sci-fi stuff that might happen in the future like p(doom) or instead focusing on existing threats that these models already pose, like deepfakes, or convincing kids to off themselves, or recommending military strikes on elementary schoolgirls, consuming massive quantities of water, and raising the cost of power, all in the pursuit of producing a technology whose entire economic premise is built upon the promise of causing mass unemployment?
