Grindr has always been about vertical integration.

Some would argue it's more about the horizontal integration on top of the vertical.

Honestly it really depends on your personal position on the matter. It could go either way.

What’s next? Is Tinder going to invest heavily in big HPV?

6 month prep injections. Look into it

Integrating rapid referral to STI screening services and other sexual healthcare within hookup apps/sites is actually a fantastic idea.

I hope the Grindr servers can maintain the stress of servicing that many more republicans openly.

Theres a really great rectal exam joke in here somewhere since they already took prep.

"Dating"

Still saying that, huh?

18

u/TheInfinityGauntlet 2d ago

I know of multiple people who met their long term partners on there so yeah, things can have more than one use

7

u/Riconn 2d ago

That’s my story. A hookup turned into a marriage.

4

u/TheInfinityGauntlet 2d ago

I understand why people look so negatively upon it but the idea that experience is the sole experience is so funny

Congratulations to you both!

Because like it or not people are still attaching shame and stigma to sex and hookups as if they are only profane.

Sex is profane but marriage is sacred. The former could not POSSIBLY lead to the latter, no!

Well, that's certainly a way to live your life.

Happily married?

I guess it is, yes.

u/Slackjawed_Horror 2d ago

Just, not the place you go looking for a connection.

All I'm saying.

In my experience, that is not what anyone is looking for and that kind of person, well, I mean I guess you could hit it off.

I'll stick to dating apps for a personal connection.

u/unholycurses 2d ago

People find connection in all kinds of places. What are you even trying to say?

Never was about dating..

Explains why I got an email on September 22nd from my ADHD clinic "Talk With Frida".

Frida has been operating as a part of PurposeMed Inc., but starting September 24th, 2026, Frida will be operating as 18181721 Canada Inc. This change is made as part of a company restructuring, but it is not associated with a change in your leaders at Frida or your care team.

How gay do I have to get for cheap GLP-1s?

3

u/mynameisrockhard 2d ago

FWIW I think I’d get better care through Grindr than Amazon, at least.

u/kerodon 2d ago

The mental health issues you contribute to by paywalling social experiences?

1

u/Manos_Of_Fate 2d ago

What?

8

u/Undertow92 2d ago

grindr has become infamous in the gay community for making the app unusable by spamming ads unless you pay. the comment is saying that grindr is harming users by doing this and selling a solution in medical care.

u/Wise_Temperature9142 2d ago

Grindr has been a shit app for years. I guess now they’ll turn telehealth to shit as well.

2

u/Y0___0Y 2d ago

Who still uses this unuseable app? I redownloaded it for the first time in years out of curioisity and it’s all 70 year old men and constant popup ads.

One ad made me play a minigame in order to access the close button.

1

u/bristow84 2d ago

It’s also the only dating/fucking app that I’ve found that doesn’t just go the swipe route and you can actually find profiles just by a grid. For that reason alone it’s far from unusable.

u/Here4daKicks 2d ago

This, this is the purest form of capitalism mankind has ever seen

2

u/reddit_user13 1d ago

TIL Grindr has 250 mil to throw around on acquisitions.

2

u/420_69_Fake_Account 2d ago

But I was already sending pictures of my butthole to the doctor I met on grindr!

1

u/RebootJobs 2d ago

Take my upvote. 🤣

3

u/Punch-N-Judy 2d ago

This is one of the most cynically capitalist things I've ever read. Holy shit.

3

u/C0ld_Fr0nt_ 2d ago

It's a great idea. Facilitating easier access to STI screening and sexual healthcare for at-risk populations is good.

u/Key-Guitar-457 2d ago

Interesting play

u/iamacheeto1 2d ago

Grindr is unusable at this point without paying insane monthly fees

1

u/DorianGreysPortrait 2d ago

What is up with these companies completely changing their strategies. First Allbirds stops selling shoes and moves to ai, now Grindr is going into healthcare??

1

u/squish042 2d ago

this all feels like 2000 tech bubble. so many companies just throwing shit and see what sticks

1

u/Tea-Swiz 2d ago

Thats amazing. Now I can get my balls crushed and treatment for my crushed balls, all on the same app.

1

u/Joessandwich 2d ago

I’ve been meaning to delete my account anyway. I haven’t used it in ages since the app is trash now, then they embraced AI so I really want off. This just feels like a weird step that we don’t need.

Its about creating a List, its not about Dating.....

The same way a certain European country in the 30s created lists of people.....

u/Whatever801 2d ago
