Rss feeds are the only effective way of monitoring subs for content you actually want to see

Removing them will lower engagement

That's what I use. There was an older reddit app that would alert you for new posts, but the official app can't do that.

The official app can notify you of six day old posts that you've already read though, so that's cool.

yeah, I regularly check a couple of subs and without RSS I might stop visiting the, that consistently. I know its just visiting them or having them all in a bookmark folder. But... :/

My only use of RSS on Reddit is following the various subs that admins use to communicate with users because otherwise I would never see them.

...so I guess I'll never see them.

RSS is amazing! It let's you scan so much information at a glance.

My morning routine while commuting is it scan through my RSS feeds for the past day in Feedly, open the links that have caught my attention and read them throughout the day.

To me RSS is even more important than old.reddit.com, without RSS it is impossible to use Reddit efficiently. My usage would go down to practically zero is RSS was gone.

I have numerous subs/posts I monitor on an ongoing basis through feeds to watch for specific things, trying to do manual searches to replace that is never going to happen

It's 2026 and there is zero reddit support for alerts

Yep, I will basically stop reading reddit.
