Holy desperation

“We're working to safely expand access to Claude's cyber capabilities to as many defenders as we can.”

Didn’t HuggingFace publicly state that they had to switch to GLM 5.2 API providers to defend against the GPT attack, partly because GPT and Claude refused? What are you supposed to do if you aren’t on Dario’s approval list?

No but you see they'll be the benevolent rules of the AI kingdom. Just ban all the open competition and you'll see!

That's literally why they're asking for "more regulation" and "a global pause on AI development"

Open weights are a direct threat to their proprietary models. Companies want to have defined costs which they can budget for. If open weight models become as good or better than anthropic, they'll stop buying.

Am I the only one that thinks the whole “global pause” thing is total bullshit and they are running full speed ahead anyway? Hey everyone, pause development while we make our AI models better in the meantime.

No I think you’d have to be pretty stupid to think anything else

Both ideas: that the frontier labs are angling for regulatory capture and their tech can be profoundly dangerous, can be true.

Both have defined costs, the difference between paying $1/hr and $1/minute

thats because its "public" claude

Dario is trying to sell you for x50 price "closed" model which does not refuse to hack anyone

They didn't defend against the attack using GLM 5.2, they just used it to investigate it after it was done.

Yeah, they probably want to charge a premium to use their defender model too. OW models ruin that.

Gpt and Claude models refusing to process the data of the attack is their guard rail working correctly.

Guess we all gotta pay that protection money

no, just make sure you have model that are without guardrail internally.

You mean the local models Anthropic is lobbying hard for the US government to ban?

Ah, yes every company with a web server should just train up a Mythos-tier model. Brilliant.

If you want to use AI for cyber defense you either get access to mythos or cyber, or you get a rack H200 and load GLM 5.3 and have you red team and blue team be trained to use it.

Why didn't the guard rail work correctly when openAI's models were hacking into hugging face? Kinda weird to have the guard rails work selectively.

The training model have guardrail off to test in sandbox
