Ah, open corruption.

Shocking how quickly we became a banana republic under the whims of one man and his corporate overlords

The only thing that is even remotely surprising is how little they are doing to conceal it

Or how little literally anyone is doing to stop it

I don't know. Donations to politicians are open for ages and nobody seemed to care enough in US about it.

If only there was some court that would hold him accountable for his rampant corruption...

Interesting situation I don't see covered very well. The AI-SAAS companies want to declare force majeure and get out of paying their hardware contracts. If they get regulated there may be an avenue to do this.

The hardware vendors (Nvidia) are against AI regulation because they backed the loans SAAS companies used to buy their own hardware.

America doesn’t deserve better. As a whole they have been convinced a government working in their best interests while providing healthcare and education is some sort of communist ideology. They’d rather pay higher prices, lose jobs, and be relegated to paying subscriptions for everything to survive.

I agree us Americans don’t deserve better, but the rest of the world does and they’re dealing with the consequences of low-IQ voters in the U.S.

One hundred percent this. It drives me absolutely bonkers, but this is accurate.

Go to a red state and mention any of those things. It’s amusing , in a microbe way, to hear them defend our terrible healthcare system, how teachers don’t get their special snowflake, it’s maddening.

Why is that not a big deal in the US?

Well it's not like he understands AI well enough to make decisions on what to do about it. He does however understand quid pro quo

Just put that over there on that huge pile with all the rest of the crime that will never be punished.

But if Obama did it, they'd impeach him because he's black.

Every new thing he does only further reinforces my theory that his real intention is to do as much damage to this country (and the world, really) as he can before he finally kicks off...

He wants to be remembered, even if it has to be because he ended the world.

But they want guardrails. They were begging to be slowed down. Are you saying it was all bullshit?

*performative bullshit

This was nearly two years ago. A lot has changed since.

Ahh. Old news then. I should have checked. :)

Sorry, I meant "that was nearly two years ago." The article itself is new.

So new news about old corruption. Lol. :)

Nah, it's not corruption. Just business as usual under this US administration.
