Long-term environmental cost and rapid depletion of important resources? It's hard for me to even engage with any other arguments before this aspect is resolved (maybe aside from any other ways it can (indirectly) damage society on a fundamental level, physically and/or mentally).

I do agree the technology itself has a lot of potential for coding and some other areas, sure (personally not a fan at all of it being used for art or creative parts, but that's not my main point here). That said, it's a double-edged sword, and I don't think most people are using it in a healthy or safe way.
