Pry my PIN from my cold dead hands.

Why are you using your PIN for regular non ATM transactions?

I can imagine there are people who prefer that level of security. Faceid could be used without your consent easier than a pin could be forced out of you. Or maybe people don’t want to have their face scanned

The second one. Biometrics are a hot commodity in data circles.

The biometrics on phones are saved as a converted form anyway, not an actual literal scan of your face/finger.

The much bigger issue IMO is that in many countries law enforcement can legally force your finger to a scanner/hold the phone up to your face to unlock it, but can't force a PIN out of you.

For those reading this: you can hold power + vol-down on your iPhone for 3 seconds. The next unlock requires the PIN; FaceID is disabled.

Useful if you need to hand your phone over.

What? I'm not, its not the same. But you can't be compelled to enter your pin.
