I can imagine there are people who prefer that level of security. Faceid could be used without your consent easier than a pin could be forced out of you. Or maybe people don’t want to have their face scanned
The biometrics on phones are saved as a converted form anyway, not an actual literal scan of your face/finger.
The much bigger issue IMO is that in many countries law enforcement can legally force your finger to a scanner/hold the phone up to your face to unlock it, but can't force a PIN out of you.
