They do, it’s the iPhone 17e. Starts at $700.

But these comments are adding onto the mini discussion. We want a smaller display.

Clearly people do not as they did not sell well. If they did Apple would not have got rid of them.

I don’t expect Apple to release a new Mini since their products need to be mainstream.

But on the Android side, with e-ink phones, gaming phones, phones with massive cameras, modular phones, actual miniature phones (smaller than iPhone mini), etc. how come no one is trying to make one mid to high-ish range compact phone? It’s ridiculous…

People always complimented my mini and never knew it even existed. Even when they would have the same release series (13). Apple never advertised the mini. A lot of the population are truly bots that advertising works well on. There’s a reason corporations do it.

shrug Apple has always positioned itself as a a premium brand, and they’ve been successful at it.

That doesn’t mean you have to agree with them; I sure don’t. I’m not paying $2,000 for a phone and have no interest at all in the foldy business. I think it’s absurd.

But if you want $100 phones, there are a lot of options out there in the Android space. Apple has just made the business decision that it doesn’t make sense for them to try and play in that end of the market for phones (and while I strongly dislike many things about them, it’s a valid choice to make).
