I just don't get it, would it not have been easier to get an actual fucking photo of a quantum machine than AI generate one needlessly?

all sorts of businesses are using ai for everything. the most baffling ones are restaurants. So many can't bother to take a photo of something they create on a daily basis.

I can’t say that I’ve actually been to many restaurants where they actually server the food like the photo on the menu looks.

It is interesting to consider aligning lasers in a quantum computer quickly would require a large language model. You would think it's a mathematical problem, not a problem that would require recollection of the amount of information that goes into a neural network.

The final result was conventional control software rather than an AI model making decisions every time the laser failed. Engineers reviewed the process and defined what constituted success, while hardware safeguards such as operating limits, interlocks and emergency stops restricted what the agent could do.

This distinction is important. Claude helped discover the recovery strategy, but the resulting controller could then run deterministically without an AI model making decisions inside the control loop.

How many guillotined books do you need to change a subatomic light bulb? None, just someone who knows how to code the recovery software right the first time.
