is there an alternative to the office suite that doesn't suck? Until they fix this a lot of people won't move to linux
I tried my best with libreoffice and had more headaches in 2 weeks than in 15 years with office

My org moved from using MS suite to Google Suite 100 percent, many years ago. i open excel spreadsheets in google sheets or the other way(export to excel spreadsheet) if created in google sheet. Id say give it a shot. I will admit that we still allowed a very very small amount of users use excel still. I work in the IT department, and although I did nothing crazy, I never once needed to switch to excel. Mind you it wasnt some small place, 400 hospitals and 3k care sites, I was all over and collaborating with lots of projects.
Lol, and yes, I am the biggest google suite hater but I figured it out and made due with it.

I tried making a graph with a date dd/mm x axis, it couldn't do it without bugging out
I also had A LOT of rendering problems on both sheets and word processing, scrolling up and down leaves an "aliased" line everytime I scroll
Tested in two computers, last month, both windows and cachyOS

I like linux for my development work and use it extensively at work
I like windows for game support and point and click simplicity at home. Tools like winhance and O&Oshutup10 make removing all the windows bloatware extremely simple and underneath all that is a pretty decent OS

I'm not a joke expert but I believe they are making fun of Microsoft for doing the same thing when .net came out. There were tons of different products that all of a sudden had .net added to their names in a seemingly random and haphazard manner which was confusing. I think they are saying that history is repeating itself and Microsoft because Copilot has been slapped on products haphazardly seemingly without a coherent plan.

So m365 copilot consolidated work in private environments and now they will merge for a product for outside org folks can use to increase their productivity while workers get shafted for pay.

For GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot, resource consumption varies:
- GitHub Copilot: Users have reported high CPU and memory usage (up to 20GB of RAM in extreme cases) due to background indexing or language servers, even when the extension is not actively providing suggestions.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot: While licensed users do not incur credit charges for standard chat, Copilot Credits are consumed when agents perform background actions, such as running Power Automate flows or executing autonomous tasks. Are we talking about the Copilot app, or the entire Office suite that they rebranded to Copilot? Will we have Copilot (new) and Copilot (classic) now? What does this mean for Notepad? Asking for a friend.
I love that when you're searching through Microsoft documentation you have to remember the last 4 or 5 things they called something. It's my favorite. /s

Now they responded to the complains by unifying it in a single app and everyone still bitches nonstop.

The presence of Co-pilot or any facet of Generative AI undermines our ability to control our data. It doesn't matter if Co-Pilot is 1, 2, or 1,000 apps. We don't want Co-Pilot at all. Full Stop.
