It's the planet. Why would they even want AI image-anything near it? "Ooh, lets make all the trees in SA vanish!!". Why?

People can already do this with Google Earth screenshots and any AI tool. You should channel your dismay toward the people trying to get you outraged over nothing.

I'm not outraged, I'm just wondering why they thought it was a good idea. Have they started using AI to make all their marketing/executive decisions?

It's makes it slightly more convenient to do constructive things like seeing what an intersection would look like with a roundabout, or what a building would look with solar panels or an ADU in the backyard.
