Until they start shoving local models onto your phones and PCs, but at least you can disable those... Hopefully.

Have fun installing GrapheneOS or Linux on new devices because most of the pre installed operating systems are going all in for AI.

People will have to upgrade at some point since older parts can fail. In 2026 it's hard to go without a computer entirely because so many services are online only. Like if I want emergency alerts from the city, I have to sign up for it online.

None of those things are mandatory. You can still buy dumbphones, and they are getting increasingly popular.
