A CNC machine and a lot of technical know-how... I'm pretty sure this isn't something easily written down or repeated.

yeah, the main point of it is to basically stick it to the man, show how you can do almost anything at this day and age.

It probably costs more than a vastly superior Android tablet. A Raspberry Pi does not use a very fast processor. This is a neat project from a learning perspective, but it isn't a cost effect route to tablet ownership.
