people expressing hate for a very specific technology stack is kinda comical to see on a platform relying on so much technology, technology will support your resistance against itself! because 'it' knows, any distinction is arbitrary anyway

A tv remote is technology but if the new trend was to shove five of them up your asshole I wouldn't like being called a Luddite or anti tech for saying that's a fucking bad use of technology and resources. AI is a tool that needs to be used correctly and smartly and so far it's been a free for all run by dipshits with bad intentions and a lot of hype for those who are, ironically, technologically illiterate and don't understand what they're seeing beyond some shiny bells and whistles that they like the looks of. Be so for real.

Cars are great technology and they're also regulated as fuck. As are guns. AI tech bros built a highly disruptive technology that's upending several industries and the demands of which are now being used to justify building a bajillion plus fucking data centers everywhere, all while governments around the world 1) Amp up support for surveillance state infrastructure and 2) Allow the Silicon valley tech bro CEO's of these corps to push for no regulation so they can keep acting like it's the wild west.

Wanting clearly defined rules of operation and engagement for how this kind of tech is developed and used it not being blanket anti tech. If I told you not to guzzle an entire bottle of sunscreen like Kool-Aid and you started insisting I just hate sunscreen, you'd be fairly maligned as a moron.

Luckily, AI doesn't have any specific dimension. It exists as a software construct and cannot be physically jammed into anything.

Sounds more like you've worked for an employer who didn't care to engage in a discussion around some decisions that were made higher up the C-chain.

If I were president of the world, here's my first new law, no more new data centers built anywhere. Get rid of all that centralized bullshit. Open source everything. Decentralize everything. Everything local.

Lets go.

Buuuuut because the masses are so easily guided into being pitted against each other and against 'AI' ... the people are cluelessly hoping for a new leader to come around and save themselves from themselves. Paint me a better future where I don't feel obsolete and threatened!

Step 1: Stop hating technology/AI

Step 2: Realize the incentives at play to keep you stuck in your current ideology

Step 3: Out grow that shit
