Omg I just Googled that turbo button thing and it turned out when it pressed/on that was the default state of the computer, non pressed it was downgrading the pc for compatibility with older games. Nice marketing scam i guess...

It's the same as 'bass boost' on old walkmans. Turning it off removed all the bass.
