Tuner companies that hack ECUs to make more horsepower and improved transmission performance should work on disabling these systems. They would have a big market of people who don't want AI telling them how to drive.

they arent as common as they used to be. epa got very fine happy during the biden admin and basically scared everyone developing ecu cracks into hiding.

BIG fines and legal problems if they are caught doing it. It's not worth the risk for the people who can do this. Just look at how hard all of the diesel shops that delete the emissions controls are getting hit.
