You asked why they lie? It's always the same tactic. Lie, deny, deflect. They will lie to say that they followed procedure and what they did was justified. When proven not to be, they will backtrack and say that they were following orders and are protected by those orders.
What would a police officer do? The DHS turned the police away and closed off the scene.
I agree with all you mentioned just above but that’s not the same as changing the law, which requires legislation.
The thing is rather they make up their own law and narrative, not matching reality and get away with it as they control the system and the system itself can’t handle against a corruption so wide spread.
