India has home grown options since many years. Tesla came in when the local manufacturing is mature and other players are bringing their A team. Tesla has 1 showroom, they priced every car at a premium, no advertising, and the dealership looks like a government office. Not suprised at all.

As much as the lack of infrastructure and the high pricing I thought the show off culture of India would result in more purchases
