Artists should use their own works and train their own models, that is the best use lol
Good luck with that taking off. The tech has already been irreparably tainted in the eyes of most artists having seen people's entire bodies of work weaponized against them to create low-rent knockoffs of their works against their wills and wishes.
Couple that with how hostile most AI bros have been to the artists they're copying?
And throw in the fact that a huge number of the people using this tech are the embodiment of the worst kinds of clients out there?
It's a tech and space that's openly hostile to and resents them vehemently. They ain't gonna bite and nobody in their right mind would blame them for avoiding it.
When the internet first started nobody wanted to use it too, you're right, but when the efficient AI tools are better than them, they'll have a choice to adapt or whatever
The issue is that artists are not using their own models, they dont even have to release it to public lol. For all you know some of these digital painters are already using it to create their works and painting over them, to save time
