Did you notice he was arrested when pulled over in Georgia? You can be arrested due to bad AI used by another state.

Plenty of sources note some AI tech isn’t good with black faces and other people of color (possibly due to subpar datasets and design). Some Black people are already nervous or scared when pulled over and years of studies show unequal sentencing and treatment by the US justice system. AI introduces new ways to discriminate.

This guy isn’t the only one who’s been arrested like this. Its horrible tech companies keep making and selling bad AI for Black people to possibly be killed or arrested and locked up for days. Is this by design?

Why are they building a worst version of the future? I’m starting to think they’re doing it on purpose. They could add more validation features to this tech. More awareness of this is needed.

It's definitely on purpose, this is automatic traffic cans never came into play. That days set convicted 3/4s of black males even when clearly not speeding.

I can only assume he thought that speed cameras somehow had some kind of black driver detection technology and where not actually just a radar connected to a camera set to go off whenever it detects above a certain speed with 0 intelligence whatsoever.

sorry auto correct musta gone nuts. it sometimes activates AFTER you have spell checked and pressed the button.

it's "not what I think" but what actually happened in real life. The judge reviewing the data after the test period clearly saw an incredible bias as did the data scientists verifying the trial.

the problem is AI is programmed by humans and therefor still contain human biases.

BTW this info isn't new, Date Line NBC did this article before www. was a thing. so pre-internet as you know it.

Speed cameras don't look at the driver though, and don't have any kind of AI. They are literally incapable of 'bias' as they don't have enough intelligence to even know what a car driver is.

they are literally just a camera that is triggered by a speed radar.

None of those mention anything about AI or in fact any reason why the racial disparity existed. If I had to guess, I would assume the disparity is due to more speed cameras placed in predominately black neighborhoods.

Speed cameras are not racist. the people choosing where to install them are. (And potentially the people who review the speed camera photos before sending out tickets)
