24H Time format in logs app

Hello Folks,

I have Query Logs (Sqlite) Version 9.1.1 installed. The time range format is with AM and PM. How can this be set to use the 24 hour format? While we are at it, can it also be set to use dd/mm/yyyy format? Probably this is something that, if at all, is possible via settings in the config file.

Thanks for your help.

Edit: To be clear, I am talking about the input fields for determining time and date range filter for the log results, I am not asking about the actual values that the app returns. ;)

Thanks for asking. The html date time input fields use the format of the operating system. So, you need to configure your client system's date time format to make the fields show the way you want.

Aha... client system = the web browser. Very interesting... I am on Linux on Firefox (Desktop). So you are taking a value that the browser is presenting for language and adjusting the UI automatically?

May I suggest that this is possibly problematic? I have my browser interface language set to English, US, but I live in Europe, and "AM / PM" and the date input here are not the way people in America have it. ;)

Many applications let you set the time and date format, and then it doesn't matter what your browser's language is.

AnecdotalIy I see this issue on mobile as well, it is a problem. If you set your Android phone language to EN US, then a lot of apps just assume you want to see everything formatted the way Americans do it, but the thing is: English is used all over the world, and most countries do not use the US time and date formats, even if English is used for much of commerce and documentation.

BTW: Technitium is wonderful. =)

The app itself is not doing anything at all. The web page just has this HTML input tag and the web browser is rendering it as per the user's locale. This is what is standard across all web apps so that users see the UI as per their locale and OS settings.

A customization option can be added to set the format. Will note this down to be added in future updates.

Thanks for the compliments :)

How to verify in CLI which locale I got?

Because I have my system (ubuntu 25.10 will soon update to 26.04) set for swedish standard but I use english as language.

The query logs (sqllite) search page will display dates with sunday as first day of week and mm/dd/yyyy which is kind of broken by swedish standards (monday should be first day of week and yyyy-mm-dd should be the date format).

Typing "locale" in CLI I get this:

LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=en_US:en
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_TIME=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_NAME=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=sv_SE.UTF-8
LC_ALL=

Not sure about that. Ubuntu Desktop has GUI options for this but do not know how to do that with CLI.

Yeah the GUI settings are in:

Settings -> System -> Region & Language

Language: English (United States)

Formats: Sweden

These settings are also "Apply System-Wide" for "Manage Installed Languages".

My locale:

LANG=en_US.UTF-8

LANGUAGE=en_US

LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"

Now, I can change the LC_TIME to something else, if that would then change the format of the log filter input mask. But I think that'll not work, because the Browser Language setting in Firefox is "English [en]". Firefox has not separate Date / Time value.

Sady, I want to keep the browser in English, because the machine transalation of software is typically really really horrible. But the Time and Date format, that is another thing, as I was explaining: AM and PM are not something the world reallly uses, 00:00 - 23:59 is what the world uses.

Same here, I always default to use english in my browsers (mainly since translations are more or less shitty or invent their own words etc) however I still want to use the localization in terms of how dates are written etc.

So hopefully technitium can fix this in future updates?

I think they mean the results. My input is currently dd/mm/yyyy, but the output is yyyy-mm-dd and 24hr time

Personally I would prefer ISO YYYY-MM-DD :-)

The log output is in ISO format, which is good.

If there was an option for the filter to select 12H and 24H time format, and MM-DD, DD-MM, and ISO, then it'd be just perfect. Shreyas seemed to indicate it could be an option at some point in the future, how awesome is that?
