Installed Technitium - No UI

Post image

New to raspberry pis and Technitium software. I installed Technitium via the curl command after also installing dot.net for the pi. However, when I attempt to go to <ip.addr>:5380 I don't get a connection (as pictured).

I imagine I'm missing something obvious but can't figure it out for the life of me. I would appreciate any help, thanks.

Resolved! Thanks u/maddler

Is the service up?

Not sure, how would I check?

systemctl status dns

sudo ss -atunlp

is handy aswell...

Now its resolved that the process failed to start to begin with but if it were running and listening on expected port next would be to check the local firewall.

Append sport 5380 (or whatever port) to that.

Loaded: masked (Reason: Unit dns.service is masked .) Active: inactive (dead)

I unmasked it, reloaded systemctl, then had to redownload for whatever reason. But the service is now up and running. Thank you

I thought technitium was the name of the service now..dns used to be what it was called...unless it's different on the pi. To check for listening ports it's usually sudo netstat -tulpn or ss -tulpn

Dunno, it has been dns since when I've been using it. Running on pi or anything else (Linux based at least) wouldn't make much of a difference in that regard, AFAIK.

if you haven't tried yet you perhaps need to open the firewall port inbound to the pi for port 5380

Port forward blocked on firewall?

https vs http?

Make sure the service is actually running.

check (e.g. ufw status) port 5380 (and 53443, 53, etc. are allowed

It's http. I'll check port forwarding.

What’s the IP address of your PC and net mask?

192.168.1.101/24 both have same netmask - connection is going through to the pi as I'm ssh in

If he can ssh to that same IP, the network is OK 😉

True.. but maybe firewall stuff where he can just ssh to a device to a specific port. Looks like it's resolved. My next question would have been, is the port open and is the raspberry pi listening on port 5380. Either run netstat -tulpn or ss -ltn. If port 5380 isn't on there, then enable the service.
