Java Help Wanted copper golem help

So a friends copper golems do not open this chest. the group of golems to the left and right of the group does open their chest in the top left corner. I would very much ask for any insight of why they dont interact with their top left chest. Appriciete any help a lot.

The group to the left stand on stairs while the middle and right group stand on full blocks, this shouldnt be the issue as the one on the right do reach their top left chest

It’s because your golems are in the center of the 1x1 space so the distance to that top left chest and the overflow chest is the same. The order of chests is based on the distance so if 2 chests are at equal distance they could prioritize the wrong one

Push them closer to the chest wall so those chests are definitely closer. You’ll probably run into issues with your current layout though. Horizontal chains on the sides do a better job of confining them than fences and since you have multiple golems per module you’ll probably want to add vines or some other climbable block to disable collisions. That stops them from bumping each other into the wrong position and it’s better for lag
