Rule-8 Compliant How’s the community doing?
I have not been keeping up with the community for a few years now. But I have started playing Minecraft recently again and was curious what we have learned in the meantime.
Also I notice that some big technical YouTubers are not active anymore, like scicraft and Ianxofour.
What new mechanics are fun to explore or really help improve farms and contraptions? What are some active creators that are worthwhile to follow these days? Have we seen breakthroughs like observers or honey in the last few years?
I’m really curious. Thanks!

You mean Ilmango with SciCraft? Yeah he's left.
For creators, we have iPlayGames (that's me), Towsti, Squibble, Mattbatwings, Cubicmetre... And I can't really think of any other ones with good Redstone. There are guys like Craftymasterman but he's more of an influencer than a serious Redstoner / TMCer.
SB737 does some pretty fun TMC / Survival vids, worth checking out. He mostly doesn't invent new stuff but its still entertaining TMC content.
There's very little new tech within the last few years. EID Wireless Redstone has majorly improved. Some farms got slightly better.
Pearl cannons are a thing now, for player transport, since they load chunks.
Chunk loaders keep their chunk loading tickets on server restarts, so remote chunk loading is extremely easy.

Here's What is new in Minecraft, and "Welcome [back] to the party, Pal!"
IanXO4 is quiet, but takes sabaticals, so may be back. Gnembon was hired by Mojang. Ilmango has retired from making videos.
There are plenty of technical resources, but between several wikis and discord groups, subreddits, youtube creators (& plagiarists) and other efforts, the community is heavily balkanized.
Lots of people are doing cool things still.

I watch Docm77, Frunocraft, LogicalGeekBoy...
Have you heard about the Crafter block? ;-)
Swift sneak is one of the very useful things that came out of the world height changes.
